Hello! We are so glad you came to visit. We want to let you know that this was our very first blog and it contains a lot of work that we are really proud of, but we stopped updating here once we launched our full service website. Feel free to wander back through this blog to see where we’ve come from, but you’ll find our most current work (along with pricing information, contact information, and more information about our philosophy) at our new online home http://honeyandsalt.us/.
2012 has been such an amazing year for Honey & Salt and we couldn’t be more grateful to have worked with all of you. We want you all to know how important you are to us.
We share in your joy and we get so pumped to capture your most beautiful moments. Each engagement session this year felt like a kind of adventure, and you’d better believe that I cried behind my camera at every wedding. Each baby I photographed tickled my heart and each set of parents humbled me in some way. At some point when editing your session I definitely exclaimed to Andrew, “Ah! They are so cute it kills me!”.
You allowed us to tell your stories, and that has allowed us to live our dream. In that way we are part of each other’s stories now, and we just have to say on behalf of Honey & Salt, it’s been a true honor and we hope to get the chance to make more beautiful images together as the years go on.
I’ve been trying to come up with a photography project to challenge myself and keep me sharp during the slow season this year. My first instict was to create some kind of elaborate theme or grand scale project, but when I thought hard about what I’d like to accomplish with an off-season venture I felt like going back to the basics of photography and appreciating the simpliest parts of what makes a great image: light, texture, color, emotion. My plan is to do a set of weekly studies of subjects both familiar and unfamiliar, with the most minimal backend editing (most of the time, I’ll try to do absolutely no editing at all), with the goal of better appreciating the tiniest beautiful things around me while giving myself a refresher on the most basic elements of photography. Here’s this weeks set.
